Description

FILTRON K 1207 Cabin Filter
The cabin filter, also known as the pollen filter, is one of the key components of a vehicle's ventilation and air conditioning system. Its primary role is to purify the external air entering the vehicle's interior. The filter is typically installed in the cabin compartment, directly on the air intake channel, before the heater and air conditioning evaporator.
Construction and Available Variants
The FILTRON K 1207 cabin filter is available in two variants:
-
Standard (white) – Made from layers of filtration paper or synthetic fiber, it effectively traps pollen, dust, sand, soot, and other solid particles.
-
With Activated Carbon (denoted by "A", e.g., K 1207A) – Equipped with an additional layer of activated carbon, which absorbs unpleasant odors and harmful gases, such as nitrogen oxides and ozone.
Functions and Benefits of Using the Cabin Filter
-
Health Protection for Passengers – The filter removes allergens, plant pollen, mold, and fungus spores, reducing the risk of irritation, allergies, and respiratory infections.
-
Improved Travel Comfort – Clean air inside the cabin contributes to better well-being for both the driver and passengers, especially during long journeys or when driving in heavy traffic.
-
Increased Air Conditioning System Lifespan – The filter protects the HVAC system components from contaminants, ensuring smooth operation and reducing the risk of breakdowns.
-
Reduction of Window Fogging – A well-functioning filter helps maintain proper airflow circulation, minimizing moisture buildup on the windows.

Operation and Replacement
During use, the cabin filter gradually becomes clogged, which limits airflow and may cause unpleasant odors inside the cabin and increased humidity. A dirty filter also creates a favorable environment for the development of microorganisms such as bacteria and mold, which can enter the vehicle's interior.
The recommended replacement interval for the cabin filter is every 15,000 km or once a year. However, if the vehicle is driven in conditions of higher dust levels (e.g., dirt roads, cities with heavy smog), it is advisable to replace the filter more frequently—perhaps every 10,000 km.
