Description
Air filter FILTRON AP 185/6
FILTRON AP 185/6 is a high-quality component designed to purify the air drawn in by a combustion engine. It is one of the key elements of the intake system—its role is to trap dust, dirt, soot, and other contaminants that could enter the combustion chamber and negatively affect engine performance.
Construction and function of the AP 185/6 filter
The filter consists of a durable housing and a specialized filter insert made of multi-layered cellulose or synthetic media. Installed in the air supply duct to the engine, the filter:
effectively traps contaminants,
ensures optimal combustion conditions for the air-fuel mixture,
protects mechanical engine components (pistons, valves, piston rings),
reduces noise generated by the intake air.
Why is the air filter so important?
The proper amount of clean air delivered to the combustion chamber is essential not only for engine operation, but also for its longevity and efficiency. Contaminated air can cause:
accelerated wear of engine components,
irregular engine performance,
increased fuel consumption,
reduced power and torque,
risk of failure, especially in modern, high-performance engines.
Symptoms of a worn-out air filter:
reduced vehicle performance,
increased fuel consumption,
rough idling,
dark exhaust smoke,
check engine light illumination in some models.
Usage recommendations:
Replace every 15,000–20,000 km or once a year, in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's schedule.
Inspect and replace more frequently when driving in harsh conditions (e.g. rural areas, unpaved roads, heavy dust).
Replacement should be done carefully, preferably at a workshop, to prevent contaminants from entering the intake system during installation.
Advantages of the FILTRON AP 185/6 air filter:
High filtration efficiency – captures even the finest solid particles.
Excellent air permeability – does not restrict airflow to the engine.
Precise fit – compliant with vehicle manufacturer requirements.
Durability and resistance to moisture and temperature changes – reliable performance in tough conditions.
Improved performance and combustion efficiency – better acceleration, reduced fuel consumption, stable engine operation.
