The Filtron OP572 oil filter is an essential component of the engine’s lubrication system, playing a key role in keeping the engine in good condition over time. Engine oil, which constantly circulates through the engine, cools and cleans by removing burnt fuel residues and other contaminants. These impurities can increase oil viscosity, reducing its effectiveness and, in the long term, posing a threat to the engine’s health.
Role of the oil filter:
The oil filter is responsible for capturing fine particles such as soot, metal shavings, and other contaminants that may enter the engine oil. As a result, the engine oil remains clean, ensuring effective lubrication and wear protection, while also improving overall engine performance.
Benefits of replacing the oil filter:
A worn-out oil filter clogged with impurities restricts oil flow and lowers pressure in the lubrication system. This results in poorer engine lubrication, which can lead to overheating of the power unit. Delaying oil filter replacement may also damage the oil pump and, in the worst-case scenario, cause engine seizure.
Oil filter replacement:
The oil filter should be replaced with every engine oil change and in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations. Leaving an old filter in place allows previously trapped contaminants to flow back into the engine with the new oil. While skipping filter replacement may seem like a cost-saving measure, it is actually a harmful decision that negatively impacts engine durability.
